The Panecillo
The Panecillo is a natural viewpoint located in the city center of Quito at 3000 meters above sea level, which has been declared a Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Visiting this place in the morning is awesome, but when I visited this place with my family we went at night and their view was out of this world. This was a whole different experience.
We got there by car and to enter we paid only one dollar for each person, we registered our names and visited the small museum in which images of the history of the construction of the Virgin were exhibited. When we got to the top of this sculpture, we could see the breathtaking view of the city and the contrast between the old and new city. Then, we tasted its spectacular cuisine in one of the local restaurants, we ate llapingachos. Finally we walked around the Panecillo to see the handicrafts that were sold in the place.
This
is an unforgettable place, whose view will always surprise you.
